Do you cover all of Fontana, including North Fontana?

Yes. Fontana covers about 43 square miles, and we serve the whole city, North Fontana included. Because the distances are real, we ask for your address before booking and confirm we can reach you. The free estimate happens at your home, so Cesar can see the actual conditions before any work is scheduled.

A city this size was built in different decades, so the same call can mean different things depending on where you live. Tell us the address, the problem and when it started, and send a few photos if you can. If a job turns out to need a different specialist, Cesar will say so at the estimate rather than after.

What do homes near Fontana's old Route 66 corridor usually need?

Homes from Fontana's earlier decades often need repairs that match what is already there: sticking wood doors and windows, worn trim, plaster or drywall patches, tired porches and fresh paint after careful prep. Cesar repairs and blends before replacing, and he says plainly when a part is past saving.

Fontana grew up as an agricultural town along U.S. Route 66. The Art Depot began life in 1915 as a Pacific Electric freight depot, the Art Deco Center Stage Theater dates to 1937, and during World War II Henry J. Kaiser built a steel plant just outside the city limits. Houses from those decades have had many seasons to move wood and age finishes.

  • Doors and windows: frames that have shifted, worn hardware, drafts at the edges
  • Walls: cracks and old patches that should be sanded and blended before paint
  • Trim and porches: loose or soft boards and peeling paint
  • Exterior paint: chalky or flaking surfaces that need prep, not just another coat

What do Fontana's newer neighborhoods usually need?

Much of Fontana is newer subdivisions where the same builds repeat down a street. Typical calls are stucco hairline cracks, faded exterior paint, sliders and doors that drag, worn weatherstripping, loose fence boards and gates, and small drywall repairs. These are usually routine signs of age rather than signs of a serious problem.

Fontana had 55,632 housing units at the 2020 census, and about two-thirds of them were owner-occupied. When many neighbors own similar houses, the same few issues tend to show up at about the same age. A quick look at the cause usually tells us whether a simple adjustment will hold or a part needs replacing, and we tell you which before you decide.

How do Fontana's heat and Cajon Pass winds affect a house?

Fontana's July and August highs average about 95 to 96 degrees and it gets under 15 inches of rain a year, so sun does most of the damage: faded paint, dried caulk and weatherstripping, shifting wood. Strong, dry Santa Ana winds that come through Cajon Pass then test fences, gates and loose trim.

The National Weather Service says Santa Ana winds are most common from September through May and are dry enough to raise fire danger and cause property damage. In practice that means checking latches, hinges and fence posts before wind season rather than after a panel blows down.

  • Spring: look over stucco, paint and caulking after the wetter months
  • Late summer: check gates, fence posts and weatherstripping before the winds start
  • Anytime: watch for new cracks in walkways and block wall caps

Do Fontana fences and walls need a permit?

Sometimes. The City of Fontana says a building permit is required for solid fences or walls over 42 inches and open fencing over 48 inches, and side or rear fences above 6 feet need Planning Department approval. Cesar will say up front what a job may need, but we do not give legal advice, so confirm with the city.

Replacing a few boards or rehanging a gate is a very different job from raising a fence line or building a new wall. If your neighborhood has an HOA, it may add its own rules on height, materials and color, so ask before you order anything. The permit and HOA application stay with the homeowner.

How soon can you start in Fontana?
